The newspaper cartoonists' house is a fashion place for cartoonists and a gallery for expression-based art. Newspaper drawings, comics and other illustrative art are displayed, including book illustrations, posters, political commentary and satire, portraits and caricatures, court and theater drawings. Typically, the house has a large summer exhibition, as well as three exhibitions in the spring and three in the autumn.
Bookstore
There is also a bookstore with illustrated books and comics for both children and adults, sales of art materials, as well as a dissemination room for artists with a wide selection of drawings and graphics in most price ranges.
Tribute by Fredrik Stabel
On the second floor is a permanent exhibition as a tribute to humorist and newspaper cartoonist Fredrik Stabel, who drew in Dagbladet for 40 years and lived most of his life in Drøbak. The gallery also sells exclusive Fredrik Stabel products, such as mugs, bags and T-shirts.
Freedom of expression and human rights
The newspaper cartoonists' house wants to promote freedom of expression and human rights through the display of political illustration art. The newspaper drawing is "fresh" and interprets current political and social conditions, people and events. In retrospect, therefore, the newspaper subscription becomes a good contemporary document. Both historical and contemporary drawing exhibitions are regularly shown in the gallery.
