Visit Bråtan

Bråten is a cozy cluster of houses a little south of the center.

To get there, go down Storgata, and pass hotel Reenskaug. An old venerable hotel in Drøbak. After passing a large apartment block just below the hotel, you come to Tollbodbakken.

In the small park at the bottom of Tollbodbakken is the bust of the ferry woman Jacobine.

We recommend that you pay the local ferry woman a short visit.
At the top of Tollbudbakken, the road goes to the right, and you are on Bråtan,

Bråten is a cozy cluster of houses a little south of the center.

Many of the seafarers in Drøbak lived here in the old days, and the narrow paths between the houses tell us that people lived close by, and that good neighborliness was absolutely necessary to have a pleasant everyday life.

The settlement also tells its quiet story of a time when people had to struggle for a living.

If you find the "Trappa" that leads you up to Brunskogen east of the cluster of houses, you get a fantastic view of Drøbaksundet.
This is where you take out the thermos with something good in it, before making the trip back to the city center, via Badehusgata.

The Bråtan trip is a must for everyone who visits Drøbak.
